Potion Polish Hot Maple Toddy

Disclaimer: all polishes in this post were purchased by me.

Hi everyone! Today's post is going to be super short because I have been really busy taking the next step to being a Real Adult™, but I could not stop myself from sharing this polish with you! I finally got my hands on Potion Polish's Blackberry Hill collection, including this ridiculously gorgeous number: Hot Maple Toddy. It's a lovely, deep violet-indigo jelly base with this sexy red/bronze/gold (and almost green) shimmer accented with holo sparkles. I don't believe the shimmer is the original UP found in Clarins 230, but it does come across as extremely similar, just with a little less sparkle. On the nail, it looks quite smooth, where UP is more... feisty.

Anyway, here are the pretty pictures so you can see what I'm talking about. It's shifty and pretty and purple!

Actually, while I was admiring my bepurpled fingertips, I realized that I was reminded of another polish in my collection: Hot Maple Toddy is very close to my bottles of the new version of Cirque Coronation. I did not do comparison swatches because I don't have the time lately, but looking at the bottles, I would say that the differences are that Coronation has almost a more translucent (as opposed to transparent), crelly-like base and is slightly lighter; the holo glitter in Coronation is finer and gold (vs silver in Hot Maple Toddy); and Coronation has, of course, the special fiery twinkle of real UP. This is where I would put a picture, if, you know, I weren't so frazzled. Did I mention we're buying a house? We're buying a house! I'm going to have my own room for makeup and polish and blogging!

Although Hot Maple Toddy is currently sold out, you can check out the Potion Polish website for more of these lovely creations! The three other shades in the Blackberry Hill collection are still in stock, and as I mentioned before, I purchased all of them, so believe me when I say they are just as beautiful! I'll have to show them off, you know, eventually. Probably after we're moved in and all the excitement has died down.

Do you have any other recommendations from Potion Polish? Let me know in the comments!
