A little taste of Fyrinnae

Disclaimer: All of these shadows were purchased my me or a friend.

Hey y'all! My weekend's been a busy one, but it's apparently convinced me to be a bit more industrial than usual. I've just got a short little post for you tonight; it's gonna be some quick mermaid swatches of three shadows from Fyrinnae Cosmetics. Take a look!

Mephisto, Bawdy Librarian, and Incubus

I figured I'd color in a stencil so it looked like an actual mermaid, since I randomly managed to pick colors that would be suitable. More useful swatches after the jump!

Bawdy Librarian

Bawdy Librarian is a lusty, bronze-y brown which performs pretty well over normal primer but really comes out over a sticky base. The sticky base also deepens the color a touch. It's a great pick for an everyday makeup single shadow look.

Mephisto has a matte blue base with a gorgeous contrasting red shimmer. This is one of Fyrinnae's most popular shades, and I love it as one of my favorites, but it's also a little hard to work with. It performs best over a cream base because over a normal primer, the shimmer can be pretty weak, but over just a sticky base, the shimmer completely overpowers the base. However, when you get it right, it's totally worth it!

Incubus is a warm brown base with a bright shimmer that shifts from brilliant bright green to blue to purple. A true multichrome, it's sparkly and complex, and while it becomes a metallic shimmery foil over sticky base, you still get a lot of shimmer and especially sparkle over normal primer. It applies really smoothly with no hints of patchiness at all, and is so easy to work with. The shift is quite difficult to catch in swatch pictures (although I tried!), but you'll find it likes to come out when viewed from the side. It's not as dramatic as the new multichromes that have been out on the market lately, but it has a charm to it that lends itself really well to eye application.

The next few pictures are of the same Pixie Epoxy swatch at different angles, to show the progression of the shift.

That's all! I told you it would be a short post. My Fyrinnae collection isn't as big as some of my others, but I'm always happy to swatch more of my makeup library for anyone who asks. Let me know if there's anything else you'd like to see in another of these short swatch posts, and I'll see if I can make it happen! The vast majority of my collection is Shiro, Hello Waffle, and Femme Fatale, so you'll probably have the most luck with one of those, but I've got a little bit of everything, so don't be afraid to ask in the comments here, or on Instagram, or wherever!
